PYO Pumpkins | FAQs

When are you open?

We are currently closed for this year.

What time do you open?

We open at 10am.

What time do you close?

We close at 4pm except the weekdays (20th, 21st & 22nd) before half term when we close at 1pm.

How much do the pumpkins cost?

Pumpkin prices are mostly between £1 and £4. We may have some larger ones which will be priced by weight (prices will be available on the day)

Do you have car parking?

Yes we have car parking within the farm. The car park will be clearly marked from the road. Please follow the instructions from the car parking marshals. There should be no need to park on the road outside the farm or surrounding roads. Please be patient while we try to get you parked. When leaving the car park please again follow the marshals to the exit and drive carefully and slowly as there are very excited children (and adults!!) running around. There may be disabled parking available if weather permits but we are a working farm and this is a field.

How does it work?

Follow pumpkin signs from Four Elms roundabout A228. You arrive and park in the car park. You will be directed to the field. We will have a display of the pumpkins available and some information about each variety (which ones are good for eating or carving), collect a wheelbarrow and go and pick your pumpkins. All pumpkins will already be cut off their vines. Bring your wheelbarrow or pumpkins to the checkouts and the staff with orange t shirts will add up the cost of your pumpkins. Pay for your pumpkins with cash or card (NO cheques or £50 notes please). If you can bag up your pumpkins then it will free your wheelbarrow up for someone else to use. If you take the wheelbarrow to your car please pass it on to someone arriving or return to the field.

Can I bring a pushchair or wheelchair?

Yes you can bring a pushchair or wheelchair however the pumpkin field can be muddy (if it has rained) and the ground is very uneven. There will be some grass strips amongst the rows of pumpkins and if it is dry these should be accessible. There may be disabled parking available if weather permits but we are a working farm and this is a field.

Do I need to cut the pumpkins off their vines?

No, the pumpkins will already be cut off their vines. You must NOT bring any secateurs, pen knives, Knives, scissors or sharp blades. You will be asked to put these in your car if found, or surrender to staff, untill departure.

Do you have a toilet?

Yes, there will be portaloos in the field and proper toilets in the farm yard.

Is it a farm shop?

We are NOT a farm shop. We only sell pumpkins from the field.

Do you have food and drink for sale?

Yes we have a snack shop selling cold drinks, chocolate, sweets and crisps. We will also have a trailer selling hot drink & food. These facilities may not be open during the week days before half term.

Can I bring my dog?

We are sorry but dogs, even on leads, are not allowed in the field or farm yard. This is for health and safety and hygiene reasons as many people eat the pumpkins.

I am having a party or wedding, can you supply pumpkins?

Yes we can supply pumpkins for your event. Please email pyopumpkins@btinternet.com to discuss this further as we can arrange collection at a different time.

Do you take credit/debit cards?

Yes we take Mastercard and Visa debit or credit.  We do not take American Express or AMEX.  We will not accept £50 notes.

Are there lots of pumpkins left?

We have planted thousands of pumpkins. Our Facebook and twitter pages will be updated regularly from the field with all the latest pumpkin information. Our website is also updated using the Facebook ‘live’ feed on our home page. Please check Facebook and Twitter prior to leaving home.

Do I need to bring bags to put my pumpkins in?

Yes please bring bags. Reusable supermarket bags, ikea type bags or recycling bags are excellent for carrying your pumpkins to the car and keeping your car clean. Black bin bags are not strong enough to carry many heavy pumpkins.

Will I get muddy?

If it is dry, it is unlikely.  If it has rained there is a strong possibility you will get muddy. The pumpkins are in a field. We recommend wearing appropriate footwear such as wellies or outside boots.
